    Loch Ness & the Highlands of Scotland From Edinburgh, tour heads towards Stirling, catching views of the Doune Castle and the Wallace Monument. Onward to the Highlands over Rannoch Moor to the Pass of Glencoe to hear the haunting story of the famous massacre in 1692. Continue to Fort Augustus on Loch Ness. Here you may choose to cruise the loch or enjoy this tranquil little village on the banks of Loch Ness. Then, continue northwards along the entire length of Loch Ness, passing Urguhart Castle, where the water is 800 ft deep. Once heading south, pass over the Drumochter Pass, alongside the Perth to Inverness railway, the highest point on any railway in Britain. Descending through the Forest of Atholl, catch a magnificent view of Blair Castle, before making a stop in picturesque Pitlochry, a delightful Victorian resort town. On route back to Edinburgh, journey past Perth and through the Kingdom of Fife.

Stop on the bonnie, bonnie banks of Loch Lomond, Britain's largest expanse of water, with time for a boat trip or a leisurely walk. The magnificent landscape has fired the imagination of writers and artists for centuries. A stop in Aberfoyle, the gateway to the trossachs. This area is well known as 'Scotland in Miniature', and was a favorite destination of Sir Walter Scott, who used the location as the backdrop for his 'Rob Roy' and 'The Lady of the Lake'. Driving through the village of Callander, and an opportunity to visit to the 14th century Doune Castle, which was featured in the movie 'Monty Python and the Holy Grail'. View the magnificent Wallace Monument, a 200-foot memorial to William Wallace. Continuing on to pass Bannockburn, scene of Robert the Bruce's famous victory over the English in 1314, and then Linlithrow Palace, birthplace if Mary Queen of Scots in 1542.
